Wealth+Material Items= Happiness?

I was browsing the net and came across an article that was explaining that a world- renowned development guru while sharing his thoughts and ideas hinted toward the fact that wealth and material items add up to the sum of happiness.

I don't know who he was referring to. I don't care really… I felt compelled to write about it because I want to let you know that although it may be true it isn't always the case and that I feel it was the exception not the rule to what our motivational leaders are 'selling us'. I have listened to a lot of motivation DVD's read a lot of books and in each and every one of them the same basic principles are discussed.

1. When you change your thinking you change your beliefs.

2. When you change your beliefs you change your expectations.

3. When you change your expectations you change your attitude.

4. When you change your attitude you change your behavior.

5. When you change your behavior you change your performance.

6. When you change your performance you change your life

A few weeks ago I went to a convention for the business I am involved with. As a group we have made it our life work to insure that people (good people) who can not afford a lawyer now can.

The leaders of our organization proceeded to give lectures about how you must first change your self before you can change the world.

Are you lighting the way for yourself and others?

IF you could make the money you really want to make… what would you have?

Understand that the idea behind having money isn't to be wealthy beyond your imagination – although I'm sure most of us wouldn't mind that. The idea behind wealth is to be able to provide yourself and your loved ones with comfort, to have more money then you need so that you can not only help yourself but also help others. The greatest gift in life is the gift of giving.

Pay the price it takes to get what you want. Whether it means to cut out some TV time or fast food, that Chinese you just have to have once a week. Maybe its Blockbuster night or something like clothes shopping.

I don't know.

Whatever it is I think that we are all basically good at heart but, keep in mind that most people won't participate in their own rescue.

So what are you doing to change YOUR life?
